Clean Your Refrigerator Coils

Your refrigerator coils should be cleaned and maintained regularly, they are located either behind the kick plate near the floor or in the rear of the fridge. Dirt, dust, and pet hair can clog refrigerator coils, restricting air flow and causing the refrigerator to work harder to keep cool. Once or twice a year, use a handheld vacuum to clean the coils and remove any loose particles. We also recommend you purchase a long, narrow stiff brush that's specifically designed for cleaning refrigerator coils. You'll find one at your local home goods store. A few sweeps will take care of hard to reach coils in the back of your unit.

Clean the Refrigerator Gaskets

Dirty gaskets prevent the door from sealing properly and can affect internal temperatures and the life of your food. They will eventually crack, chip and need to be replaced. Clean gaskets with warm water and a sponge. Remember, DO NOT use detergents for cleaning gaskets.

Change Your Water Filter

Dirty filters do not remove contaminants and impurities and should be changed every three to six months. Always purchase the filter recommended by your manufacturer. Simple replacement instructions are detailed in your manual.
